all we can figure is something happened while she was having the babies. She was alive one night and the next morning she was dead. When we removed her from the cage she had a scorpling coming halfway out of her. So she died during the night while giving birth to one. We have the 5 that she had before she died and they are doing very well.

ah, i had a hamster that did that.
it was so sad, she was struggling so much. none of the babies made it either.
im glad your babies are doing well.
