Re: Hey I'm New Here!

I personally have not owned any aquatic turtles, frogs, etc. but a friend of mine had some fire belly newts and frogs that were great! They did not require a ton of space, they were beautiful and fun. And the frogs made the cutest singing noises. And no, they were not housed together!! Don't do that!! (I just realized it probably sounded like she was keeping them together)
If you don't find an amphibian that makes you happy, I suggest a leopard gecko!! I can't even tell you how much I love mine...she is easy to care for (relatively speaking), and you can hold her (which is an important factor for me personally) - she isn't mean, doesn't bite, is good sized and she is not 'flighty' like some lizards. I never thought I could love another little creature as much as I do my dog and my desert tortoises, but sure enough, I do. Good luck in your search!!!

Re: Hey I'm New Here!

welcome to the neighborhood! like others before me have said, give us some more info about what you would like and we would be more than happy to help you out! Research first is always the best way, and once you know what all you need then you set up the new home for your soon to be pet and once that is perfect, you find that pet. If you have a hard time locating what you finally decide on at the stores in your area you might try a reptile expo or looking for one online.

Re: Hey I'm New Here!

Welcome in, I am a huge fan of clawed frogs, they are very acrobatic and in my experience easy to care for. They also have some cool sounds it you get a male. It makes my room sound like I am sleeping outside, it is very relaxing. They are also hysterical to watch eat, they stuff things in their mouth with their front feet, and I don't know how common this is, but mine beg when I walk by their tank by tapping their mouth and jumping around like they're crazy.

Re: Hey I'm New Here!

Redlocks, I have had a leopard gecko and indeed there are great pets. I am going to non-stop research on suitable amphibians. Thanks everyone! I will let you know on what I decide on.

Re: Hey I'm New Here!

great to know you will do the research. And whatever you decide on, you CAN get even though your local store doesn't have it. Well, i see you are in england, and we have several other people here from england as well, I'm sure they can chime in on where you CAN find what you want, you just have to be patient in finding it.
