Re: Introductions in order..

If you don't mind something more aquatic, a firebelly newt might work for you. You have to keep the water filtered and conditioned, but the animals stay very small, and from what I've read, they do well at room temperature. They need a land basking area, but they need a larger area to swim in.

It might be an option for a 10g tank - if it holds water.

Hi Ryan! My youngest daughter is currently a freshman in college pre-vet, and thinking about working with exotics, probably reptiles. One of her favorite friends in the Biology dept. is the Jack Dempsey they just got from someone who didn't want it anymore. She thinks he's the coolest. My next daughter up the rung is at the same college and a sophomore whose favoritefriends in the Biology dept. are the Schneider's Skink (pics in gallery) named Lizzie, and a Savannah Monitor named Fluffy, and a Ball Python named Sneakers. They also have a tank of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, a bunny named Boo, and are looking for some replaclement Degu's (their's died of old age) and a replacement rat (she died of cancer). Lizzie lives in a 20 gallon long and loves it. Before they got her, she was fed her crickets in the cage, so she had a lot of cricket bite injuries. We cleaned her tank 3 times between Thanksgiving and Christmas because crickets had been breeding in there with her, and she was getting bitten again. The 3rd time, we went all the way and bleached all of her tank furniture, it looks like we got them this time. Good luck with your animals, and your studies!

Re: Introductions in order..

Thank You for everyone's help, I ended up buying a tank topper, which basicly turned my tank into a twenty tall, (it was on clearance) and will be purchasing some type of tree frogs, luckily I don't have the problem with crickets biting any of the animals, and actualy prefer feeding them in there habitat, it is There home, and I feel it puts unneccasary stress on the animals to move them everytime they eat, i let them eat at there own leisure, but to each there own. If anybody is interested in seing pictures of the Enclosure I posted some in the Amphibians: Frogs Forum

Re: Introductions in order..

Hey, I commented on your enclosure and about what you plan on putting in there.

One more thing, when you respond to threads, try to be sure they aren't old. You seem to be resurrecting threads that are over 6 months old.

Thanks.

Re: Introductions in order..

yeah, oops. I think I may postpone the frogs until I have a bit more experience, i'm wondering what the tank would need to be suitable for green anole's?
