New with Questions, I want a creature?

I want a creature but the thing is I am not sure what kind ( in the herp realm)

I have a 39 gal hexagon fish tank that I got and when we got it home it leaked, I have since bought a new tank for the fish, but I have this other tank still here, I thought about resealing it and then thought maybe I could turn it into some type of creature house. But I am not sure what would like to live in my tank. Its 24 inches tall and the panels are 8 1/2 inches and since its a hex there are 8 sides. Its on a stand and altogether stands about 4 feet tall. I would have to construct a sealed lid for the top and I have a flourescent light that I can change out the bulb in or even buy a new light. It will be in the living room which is a quiet place, so the creature will not be stressed, I do not have to handle this pet and it can be for show only.
I just want some suggestions, on what would do well in a set up like this, I am open on all things.

Thanks, I have posted on several sites to see what if anyone tells me.

Also I have dealt with herps before and I work at a vet that sees herps so care is not a problem at all.

A tank that size would be good for a leo. A corn snake wouldn't be a bad idea also. Welcome to HC by the way, glad you joined us.

a tank with that height would be good for a tree frog. Of course I'm biased. But it would work well.

Welcome!

It sounds like the tank is taller than it is wide right? Maybe you could look into arboreal geckos. I know nothing about crested geckos, maybe someone will chime in with an opinion though.

I'm thinking Crested Geckos and frogs as well (not together of course, lol ) with the height.

Welcome to Herpcenter.

Welcome to the HCN. If you're partial to snakes it would house any of a number of different species. Like Corns or Milks or Kings. I agree with those saying Crested Geckos or even Gargoyles. If you're going to be around it during the day. I would go with a Day Gecko.

WELCOME!

some of the smaller tree frogs would work too. you might even get away with 1-2 White's (yes, like liz I'm a bit biased...)

Re: New with Questions, I want a creature?

2 whites would be fine in a 40 gallon.

Re: New with Questions, I want a creature?

Thanks for the suggestions, I am going to look into some geckos I think. I just got knocked down but my SO on having any snakes in the house, didn't know they bothered him that much. He wants something that is brightly colored and showy if people are looking. He is an artist so he wants it "bright".
