Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
I'm new to this site.....
And I wanted to say I have a bearded dragon named Draco and I love him..... I also have a few questions I hope someone can help me with, all the experts on bearded dragons listen up..... I think he might have hyper leg extension, his legs get bent funny. And today he's been jumping off the sides of the cage. Like trying to get out. He doesn't lay there like he's dead so I know that he can't be too sick.....Not sure what to do or what's wrong, someone please lemme know.... The names: -SheriDee- |

Re: Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
first we need to know more about your enclosure and dragon.
Temp, humidity, substrate, diet, size of enclosure and lighting.

And we need a picture....
If it is broken then time is of the essence, I'd get him to a vet as soon as possible. Herp Vet Connection ARAV Those sites should help you find someone near you who can help you. |

Re: Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
Welcome to HC,,,without a doubt let us know how your setup is. What concerns me is you said "legs" as in plural. If this is occuring to more than 1 limb I would think it's more than a broken leg. It is possible that he has Metabolic Bone Disease from insufficient lighting. I would highly recommend a vet visit.

Re: Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
Hello,
Welcome to the HC Network. I, like Ken, first thought of the plural term being used and also immediately thought Metabolic Bone Disease. What type of lighting do use? How old is the lighting? What type of diet do you feed? How regularly do you feed? What type of supplements, if any, do you use and how often? |

Re: Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
I put a 100w repti basking spot light on him. I give him about 25 crickets a day. Not all at the same time. I powder his crickets every other day or so with reptivite. He won't eat fruits or vegetables I give him. I keep him in a ten gallon tank. His cage stays around 90 degrees and gets about 85 at night.
That's the way his legs always are. Straight and stuff. I don't know what to do....Sheri |

Re: Newbie-SheriDee WITH QUESTIONS!!!
The lights sold in petstores as "basking lights" are not UVB generating lights but only provide heat. You need a UVB generating bulb. You also need to provide a basking spot in the neighborhood of 105 degrees for a baby.
