Lizard-loving Fish girl

Hi, I'm new here (obviously). I don't actually own any herps currently, though I used to; the reason I joined up is because I just moved to Florida where there is an abundance of lizards, snakes, frogs, and other herps, none of which I know anything about (I'm from Michigan). I came here in order to study marine biology; I'm particularly interested in cephalopods, especially octopus.

I've own freshwater fish for years; when I moved here, I was forced to get rid of five aquariums, including a 55 and a 40, along with over 23 different species of fish, some of which were quite spectacular. I miss them sorely; all I've got right now is a single betta; he was in bad shape when I first found him at a petshop, but his colors were very unusual, so I took him in anyway and managed to nurse him back to health. I've had him for around two years now.

Now I'm here, I will probably spend a lot of time irritating everyone with questions about "what's this lizard? What about this lizard? Is this lizard what I think is? I found a really cool snake that I've never seen before!" I will likely be a very different kind of pain when it comes to any fish threads I find...
