Hi there,
After years and years of trying, I´ll finally be abe to have my first snake (had to change wife in the process...

).
I´m used to take care of animals, having fish tanks for 30 years (latest 16, only reef tanks) and dogs. I´m a moderator in a reef-forum in Portugal and currently hold a 6 feet 200g+ in-wall tank at home. But that´s not the issue, here...
So, next weekend I´ll be bringing home my 1st snake, a Sinaloan (Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloe) and I´m naturally very excited. It´s going to be called "Coral" (guess why..). Coral is around 20" and has been at the pet shop for around 6 months so its very docile and tamed. My 3 kids loved it and that was a decisive factor to chosse this one in particular.
The pet shop employee is - I believe - knowledgeable and has been owning snakes for more than 10 years (also used to work at the Zoo).
The terrarium is already prepared. It has 26"x18"x18", with both warm and fresher areas, "pool" a few rocks and branches. Good hodding places in both areas. I can´t tell you exactly the type of substract I´ll be using, but it was advised at the pet shot.
So...that´s about it for now. I´ll certainly have lots of "newbie" questions in the near future and am couting on your help.
First one: Do you confirm the terrarium is suitable for a Sinaloan ? (in a long term basis)
Regards,
João
