Well, I guess my name is Sarah

Cody told me to go introduce myself...

I'm Sarah. I'm a 20 year old (oooh, feels weird saying that), college student in the biology program at FSU in Tallahassee, Florida.

I'm new to herps, I got a tiger salamander last year and enjoyed him, his personality, and I also liked that he was pretty low maintanance. I always get scared things you can't really touch too much will die on me, but he's been fine. (No, I don't actually know if it's a he, but I just call it that cause, I dunno, salamanders kinda look like hes to me.) So about 2 and a half weeks ago, I went to Repticon, and ended up coming home with a Siren. I actually told my friends, "Don't let me come home with anything unless it's a salamander." And, technically, that's what I ended up coming home with! So now I have a tiger salamander and a siren.

But that's not all, I also have rats =P (No! They aren't feeders!) I love my little ratties, they are like tiny dogs, but easier to take care of. I know, most of the people on this forum will view them as food for their herps... This is the reason why I was never able to bring myself to get a snake. Bah! But don't get me wrong, I like all sorts of herps. I guess I just kinda chose salamanders as my herp of choice =P

I guess in the future, I might like to get some axolotls, but not at the present time, as I don't really know where the heck I'd put them in my tiny room. But they are pretty cool, and the more I read about them the more I want 'em.

I can't really think of much else.. Anything you wanna know? Ask!

-Rah

Good Call on FSU, I hear there program is pretty good. I am headed down there soon for part of my current research project.

I started with amphibians first too, they are lower maintanance handling wise, and water is so much easier for me to clean than dry substrate.

Now that wasn't so hard. Thanks for the intro Sarah! Did you ever name the siren?

Hi, Sarah! You think 20 is weird, lol -- I always have a hard time believing my age. And I'm only 37! Welcome to the best herp forum on the entire internet (and the internet is a mighty big place)!!

I love salamanders, btw. The kids and I have had fun watching egg masses from our creek hatch, and then raising the larvae and releasing them.

Cody, I ended up naming it "Undine," hehe... Pronunciation is yet to be determined... If you all know what this is in reference to, pats on the back, and we should really talk.

Blah.. Sometimes I still feel like I'm 16... and I act like it sometimes too! Who am I kidding... A little more than sometimes...

Thanks, again, for the welcoming =D
