Hi
Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Mike and my family and I are Texans transplanted in Michigan. We have had several reptiles and arachnids over the years including ball pythons, red tail boas, rose hair tarantulas, iguanas, geckos and bearded dragons.
Mostly animals we have adopted from people that decided they either didnt want them anymore, decided they just got to big to keep, or just plain didnt know how to take care of them.
We haven't had anything other than dogs for about 5 years amd recently adopted a rose hair tarantula and an iguana from a couple of kids that were friends of my daughters.
The iguana came to us in a 55 gallon aquarium and we just yesterday built him a more suitable habitat 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 3 feet deep. It was the first (and only) habitat we have built that size and so far Samson loves it.
Oscar the rose hair is still in the 10 gallon aquarium he arrived in.
Anyway, just wanted to say hey, I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of question about maintaining a larger habitat.

Thanks for the welcomes, and yes. We are in Michigan transplanted from Texas. Samson is the 3rd or 4th iguana we have had, but all of the previous ones we were just temporary until we found suitable homes for them.
We plan on keeping Samson as part of the family, so here I am reading up on everything I either thought I knew and didn't, wanted to know but didn't know where to look, or just plain had wrong. Working on sorting out temps in his new habitat now, but so far he seems to love it.
