No friends! Iguanas are solitary and since Baby is not in the best of health right now adding another iguana to the mix may be the last straw and stress her to death.
Go get her a big cuddly stuffed iguana...I got one for Diz that he used to sleep on.

Well thank you all and they said she had tissue damage. She fell and hit her bone. I dont think tissue damage about cuts it for her. Anyway, I will not get her another iguana if it will be harmful to her health.

If the vet says it is likely tissue damage, it's best to just assume they are correct. (Even if you don't agree.) If we knew more than they do, we wouldn't need them to begin with.

It's a good choice to avoid purchasing another iguana. You will have your hands full with the one you have now. lol

Well for the money I put in, all the vet did was pull and tug on her leg and then tell me 500 dollars for 2 x-rays!

That's a bit pricey for 2 xrays. If the xrays showed no bone damage, it could be a bad sprain. And from personal experience, the only thing that heals a sprain is time and rest.

And with small fractures the only way to tell for sure would be an xray.
But I agree. $500 dollars is a bit steep.

Re: Help Baby the Iguana Please

Would her leg be that swollen if it were just a sprain? Yeah I went to Angell and almost hit the vet for hurting my poor baby. I love my iguana with all my heart but 500 just for x-rays is just a lot of money they didnt even x-ray her for me, they made me pay 145 for just tugging on her and pulling her poor leg

yes, when I sprained my ankle, it was black and blue and the size of a football.

See if you can find a different vet. That amount of money is insane. A usual vet visit with just a visual check up should run you no more than $75 for a herp specialist.

Re: Help Baby the Iguana Please

Wow! I agree, I have never paid that much, EVER, for x rays! I have had surgeries done for less than that, not much, but they were less than that, lol. It is usually all the follow up care that costs a ton. I dont understand the charges you got. Did your bill itemize the charges?
