The picture looks a lot worse than it actually looks

I by no means am as knowledeable as a vet would be in this situation. It may look a lot worse than it really is, but I am trying to figure out how it happened, to prevent it again for you. It looks as if he was rubbing on the tank. If so that is because his cage is already way to small, even though he is only 18 inches. Good job for taking him,,, now it is time to upgrade to a 6 foot long, 6 foot tall. and 3 feet wide enclosure for him. This will help prevent any possible future rubbing to get out.

I have sucker tattood on my forehead

My baby iguana scraped the tip of his mouth against its screen enclosure. It doesn't sound as serious as yours, mine hardly bleed at all. Now its just missing like maybe 1 or 2 scales and you can see a bit of tiny flesh there. But, he's eating normal like a pig and he seems fine to me. When it happened I just kept it clean with water everyday.
