Rescued Igg Has Some White Scars???

I inherited a rescued igg from a good friend who just has to work too much to play with his children so he passed this big guy onto me. Draco looks to be about 3 years old from his size. He's alert and interested in everything but I am a little concerned about one side of his body that has what looks like white scar tissue on it, he doesn't seem to be in any pain when it's touched, it looks like an old injury (he had this when my friend obtained him). A couple of his nails are missing on his front claws but other than that his tail is very nice and he seems quite interested in his surroundings. I'm wondering if the white skin is anything to worry about, it does seem to have improved lately (i.e the area looks smaller than it was) he doesn't seem to have scales in this area. Also on the same side of the body his rib cage seems to be shaped a little different from the other side, looks almost like the poor baby was in a battle with another igg or another critter of some kind. He's very sweet and laid back which is why I fell in love with him. if I can figure out how to post pictures I'll do that, I do have a photobucket account.

Re: Rescued Igg Has Some White Scars???

Our rescue ig has quite a few battle scars and the vet said they will never all go away. Some of them have changed in size and color as she has become healthier. She has no tail, there was to much damage to save it.

I do iguana rescue and from what you are describing that sounds like burn scars,, every one of my iguanas that are healed from burns have the white scars where the burn was. I have one that is almost completely white on one half of her body because of the burns. Now are they fuzzy feeling, like a fungus or something growing?

Ok that confirms what I was thinking, no they are not fuzzy, they are just smooth white patches with scales all around. I'll try to get a few shots tomorrow and put them up. He's also got a rather large area on the other side that's darker than the rest of him I can't tell if it's coloring or another problem skin area. Will get some pictures when I get a chance, don't ever let anyone tell you that lizards are stupid this one is smart as a whip and curious as a two year old.
