I know what you mean about nobody who will do anything! If I thought for a moment they would do anything about it and follow up to make sure he never gets anymore I woulod turn him in in a heartbeat! Unfortunately we all know that wont happen so I just keep smiling to keep the lines of communication open between him and I.
I am always searching for legit rescues even if they can only take in 1 or 2 as that is one or two that maybe do not have to die due to someones ignorance or neglect! I am so anxious to see what Kindred Spirits can do to help!
Right now I am working to find somewhere for two red tailed boas he has had for over a year that have severe mouthrot. According to him they have had it off and on and he treats with Betadine and it goes away and then comes back. He calls them WinG and Prayer as he states he is impressed with the fact that they have gone 9 months without eating and have lived through burns and the mouthrot.
We all know that they need a vet, he seems to think he is one, and they need antibiotics and strict husbandry and someone who is willing to take the financial responsibilities, and time to rehab them.
I am trying so hard to figure out how I can get them here, even if temporary, but I have no eclosures for them at all and I am full to the max! Shoot I dont think I could plug in one more thing without my house or shop burning to the ground
Back to the original reason for this thread Baby Dragon has some more life in her this morning!! Yeah! Fluids and antibiotics are obviously helping, she showed me her pearly whites and was most annoyed with me and let me know it. Looking good!

I've chatted with the Kindred Spirits people at length a while back, they seem like knowledgeable wellmeaning good people, which of course put them in high demand, but I hope they can help you out!

About a year ago I drove an iguana from here (100 miles south of Sacramento, CA) to Ashland, OR (which was the half-way point), to take her to a new home. Gwendolyn now lives in the Olympia area and is doing well.
I'll keep you in mind when I hear of people that are looking for an iguana. I always encourage adoption and will help with transportation, etc. I like to know that the folks who are taking in an ig are capable, and I usually supply them with one of James Hatfield's books.
I've also heard of Kindred Spirit... here's their website... looks like a very nice facility.

I actually just got a leo in about 5 weeks ago, however I am not a big fan on shipping, and honestly I have no idea how to ship them properly. I have heard so many horror stories about it that I have just always said no. Too bad you are not closer, we could chat for a while and probably work something out. I really do need to move this Leo though. In all the years I have done this I do not see much Leopard Geckos or bearded dragons, or chameleons, such things like that. I see a lot of snakes that get too big, Iguanas and monitors for the same reason, and the occassional skink or tegu that come in with the personality of Jack the Ripper ( actually he would probably be more pleasant to be around! LOL).

what exactly is it that you want to know? I also do have one Bearded Dragon! Remember I am a rescue so I do not have history on most of them, all I could tell you is what I know since they have been with me.

Oh just the basics, sex if you know it, health issues you've uncovered, morphs if its anything special, just the stuff you'd tell any prospective owner.

Actually I do not know the sex of either one. I just looked in the Leopard Geckos file and he has only been here for 3 weeks as of yesterday, seems like 5 weeks phew! Zim the dragon arrived on January 7, 06 so he is definately taking up space that could be used for something that needs more help. The only problem I have with him is that he is occasionaly fussy about his greens, thinks he is "all that" (dont they all) and will tear up his enclosure when the iguanas happen to mosy by. He thinks he is bad enough to rip their face off, LOL, even the huge males. He is quite amusing. He was not really abused when I got him, just had an owner that had no knowledge. His uvb light was the same one they bought for him when they originally bought him as a baby, which should have been changed a MINIMUM of 3 times, oh he was also on sand all his life until he came here. They used the calcium sand or the walnut shells. EEEK!
