By the way, the lamps look precariously dangerous. I know it's worked for you through the times but with huff being so aggressive, can't he just climb up there and mess the light up? From the first two pics it seems that he can easily do that if he decides to one day.

Yes he can. He likes to put his stomach the the ceramic socket. I got the socket up against the ceiling now so he can't do that anymore. He was getting up there on the shelf though to watch TV but since he has his couch he doesn't do that. And Patrick will be boxing it in soon too.
