Repolver this is my ig odin. He is supposedly the same age as your although i'm now not so sure. I've had him/her for about 5 months and my pet shop got him from a breeder and I picked him up from the pet shop the day he arrived from there.

Lacey thanks for the compliments!

Kirsty, did I call you Kristy before? Sorry.
That's a beauty you have there. How long is she snout to vent length and snout to tail length?
She seems like a beautiful and nice girl, but the pics you showed are a little blurry. I am sure if you have larger pics you can show her true glory even more. Why aren't you sure of her age anymore? Looks like she's getting to shed around the nose in those pics.

How's her temperament and what is her diet like? Such cute little things!

oops. sorry kirsty I just saw your other post. I guess the pics are blurry because of a mobile phone camera. At least your phone takes pics! Mine can't. But I like to play that space invaders game on it and I don't want to switch phones because I want to keep my high scores that no one else cares about! LOL!

Replover he/she is about 6" snout to vent length and about 9-10" snout to tail length but he did lose a bit of his tail so snout to tail length is not quite as long as it should be.
He's a great little guy although can be a bit jumpy when I go to get him out his tank. Temps in his tank are 100 in basking spot, 95 warm end and 75 cool end. His diet is mainly spring greens, sugar snap peas, carrots, mango, melon, okra, butternut and acorn squash, and anything else I can get at the time. He does seem to LOVE cherries!!
Not really sure of his age because your Liv looks huge compared to him.

Anthony - from your pictures it is sooo obvious that you are doing a fantastic job with Liv. (S)He is looking great - a thousand times better than on the pet shop photo.
You should feel very proud that it is YOUR care that has turned Liv's health around and I am sure that with the knowledge you have learned already and the experience you will pick up along the way, that Liv will be very happy with you for many years to come.
Well done

Thanks Brittone05. Whether she is female or he is male, I will take great care of her. I am determined to solve all the issues that arise with sexual maturity when the time comes. If I can do such a good job on her health now, I am sure I will keep her healthy and alive for decades to come. I KNOW it!

Kirsty, Odin is only 1.5 inches smaller than Liv in terms of snout to vent length, so there isn't much disparity in size really. Your iguana's snout to tail length is so much shorter simply because Odin doesn't have its full tail, but that's not related to age. Besides, I'm relying on the pet shop person to tell me the age anyway so that's probably not so reliable. I think that at most, our iguanas' ages are maybe two or three months apart at most?

If so, let's say Odin is 2 months younger than Liv, he's at the right size. I didn't measure Liv's snout to vent length in the beginning, only snout to tail length. (S)he was 18 inches snout to tail length at the time, so I presume her snout to vent length would be at least an inch of two shorter, and that was less than a month and a half ago. So if that's the case and your Odin is a month or two younger than Liv, yours would be right on target sizewise. If it's eating well, get ready for it to start growing fast!

What type of UVB setup do you have? At first I had just one florescent tube. When I switched to using mercury vapor bulbs (self-ballastered) I noticed a significant change. She started eating a lot more and began pooping twice a day instead of one. I don't know, but perhaps if you are using a florescent now, perhaps switching to an MVB would help Odin grow faster? Do make sure that the enclosure is big enough for MVBs though as they do produce quite a lot of heat and light.

Replover perhaps that might be an issue but I have described my set up of an 8% UVB tube with a Ceramic Heat Emitter to many members and they say its fine. But perhaps if I change to a MVB he might grow eat more and grow quicker. My tank is 4'x3'x1' so it should be able to handle it.

Absolutely beautiful pic of Liv!
Hugs to you again of the fantastic job you are doing with your adorable little' ig!

Is that guy in the pet shop insane? $1,300 for an malnurished, emaciated ig? My heart breaks reading that story.
