how can you tell if its a girl ? is the belly another basis of differentiating a male and female ? sorry I only have 1 iguana , and I can't compare to one another

Its not the belly, its the shape and features of the head and spines. Females have shorter spines and a slimmer head. The large sheild like scale below the ear, the subtympanic, is also larger in males than in females.

Once I posted that, I wondered if it would be misconstrued... sorry! Merlin is right regarding the differences between males and females. The comment about her belly was separate from my statement that she's female.
