Heeere's Puffy!!!

Im new to this site.. but so far its been really helpful for my iguana.

anyways here are some pics of the young Puffy!

Look it has wings!(1st time I saw it shed!)

Looking good

Looking much healthier than when I first got it... and bigger 2.

Took this yesterday

and finally a sketch I made

-------------------------
Ok Here is a bit about how I came across Puffy..

When I was around 12 my parents had bought me an iguana.. Called Sleepy (after the frog from the Starfox game, lol) I had it for a while until my little brother left the door cage open and in a few seconds the cat came in the house =(... ya I wanted to kill my bro.

Ive always kept all kinds of pets, so my friend and I decided to get some Chameleons.. i had everything ready (cage, equipment, and all) apperently the chameleon I bought had some sort of decease.. or malnourishment from the pet store already, the female died very soon(a werner)... but the male(fouleborni) is really healthy and strong to this day...so I went back pretty ****ed off and told him to give me the money back...he wasnt too happy about this but he told me I could have an iguana instead... i didnt really care so much for the money I had lost on the chameleon so I took the iguana since I had all the necessary things already at my house... (plus ive been dieing to get an iguana ever since the accident with my first one)

Now I try to take all the precautions I can with my new iggy.. ya and no one is allowed to stick their hand in the cage anymore, i dont want any accidents again.

So far I have been feeding it collard greens and kale for the most part.... but I always include other things mixed like fruits, squash, hibiscis and dandelions, and of course a container with water.

as for Lighting I have a heat bulb and a uvb light (reptisun)
when I wake up early enough or have time I put him outside in the sun in a terrarium.... he seems to love taking sun baths. and ocasionally ill give him a good shower.. seems to hate it.. i only shower him after he starts to shed.. to ease the process.

Puffy loves to **** all over the place lol! but my main concern is taming him, he can be VERY stubburned. Once he is out of the cage he behaves...ehh kinda.. hehe.

He has bitten me only once and rarely wips me anymore...yey! hahaha

here is a <a href="http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/marianoh44/?action=view&current=CIMG1061.flv>"video</a> that I took in the first weeks that I had him.. the cage has gone through some changes.. the dirt has been removed, and I added some platforms and better branches for Puffy to rest on.

so ya ive had him for about 4 months.. and he looks much bigger and healthier to me

oh btw I dont know if I should be calling him a he or a she lol! ok Comment and enjoy the pics!

Awww... what a cutie! Tell us all about him... how long you've had him, what you're feeding, what his cage is like, etc.

Oh, and welcome!

He's so cute!
Try to get a copy of a book called "Green Iguana - The Ultimate Owner's Manual' by James W Hatfield III. It'll give you lots of really good information about how to care for him and also lots of training and taming info which you will really appreciate when he gets bigger!!

What kind of terrarium is it outside in? If it is glass this is a no-no. Direct Sun on glass will make it WAY to hot inside for the ig. Just like when you get in your car on a sunny summer day...

Good luck! It looks great.

Re: Heeere's Puffy!!!

Hello and welcome, Puffy is sooooo tiny!

Make sure you chop his food really tiny, it looks a little big in the pics, the more finely you chop it the more he can fit in his belly and the more nourishment he'll get from it.

Re: Heeere's Puffy!!!

Awwww,,, babies, I love babies!! I agree with everyone else,, I seem to forget how small they start off, lol considering all of mine are a lot bigger than that. I will trade you a nasty full grown male for that one, lol (kidding)
