Looks like the little guy could do with a bit of fattening up!
And if you use the IMG tags instead of the URL tags the image will display in the post.

Are you feeding hm only by hand? They will generally eat much more from a bowl, preferably when nobody is around to watch.
Have you taken a fecal sample in to have it checked for internal parasites?
A gut load of those will prevent him from gaining weight.

I havent taken a fecal sample to the vet just yet, Im planning to. I have to feed him by hand cause im always in my room and he makes such a mess of his food bowl. He will get in it and then with his back feet he will jump and it throws it everywhere. Any tips?

A deeper bowl? He may be rooting around looking for favorite goodies.
But seriously! Hand feeding an iguana can have some serious repercussions. Some of them will get so used to it that they will refuse to eat on their own. This may not sound like a big deal now but when he is 5-6 ft long and 10-15 lbs and consumes several cups worth of food at a feeding it will take up a lot of your time! And what happens if YOU have to leave for a few days and have someone else take care of him. You really need to get him feeding on his own now.

He's a little sweetie! Merlin's right on... with both his suggestions. A fecal exam will cost less than $20; of course if it's positive, the vet visit will cost a bit more (and so will the meds), but most vets will let you bring in a sample without seeing the ig. Of course I would suggest an exam anyway and if he does have parasites any good vet will insist on an exam before prescribing meds.

Also about hand feeding... it is best to stop now. Your iglet will get used to you in time, and WILL eat when it gets hungry enough regardless of your presence. One suggestion is to put the food in the enclosure just before you leave for work or school. The ig will eat while you're gone.

Oh yea... WELCOME!!!

yea, im not out of the room much. If I just let him eat he wont eat very much on his own thats why im hand feeding him. I was planning on him eating by his own I was handfeeding him as a appetite stimulate as well. he has a very thin dish, should I get a deep one. Its high in the cage also cause thats where he stays.
