Iguana Losing Spikes on Tail...looks Bizzare

This is what our member has to say: Its not anything I have experience with. Can you get some clearer closeup pictures of the area?...

Re: Iguana Loosing Spikes on Tail...looks Bizzare

its been going on for like over a week...maybe even more...it looked normal to me cause his tai is growing back so I thought maybe new spikes were growing but its all whitisht grey and crusty now...i have no idea what it is but i'm thinking a parasite cause of the way the spikes are sort of eaten away

He needs to go to a vet. Period. A vet who specializes in exotics is going to be the best bet for your iguanas health, even if it is a long drive.

Its hard to tell from the pictures but the white area around the spikes I see in the pictures looks like unshed skin.
Are you talking about the fact that there are not spikes on the regrown area of the tail?
When the tails regenerate they won't have spikes.
