Is there anything I should do to drift wood to make sure it is safe for my iguana? I want to decorate his new cage with natural things.

If it's small enough you can bake it at 350 for 30 minutes. If its a big piece, scrub with a 1- 10 bleach/water solution and rinse well. Let it dry for a few days.

Before baking does it require any preparation such as soaking to insure it does not catch fire? My wife would not appreciate me burning the kitchen and rest of the house down. Thanks.

I don't think so, at that low of a temp it shouldn't burn.

Is it ok to put wood in there (the Bearded Dragon tank) that has some cracks as long as you sterilize it? Also, it is not driftwood per say. It is a branch off a tree. Not fresh off, but off the tree none the less. It is dried out.
