Not Doing So Well

Hello everyone, I know it has been a while sense I have posted. Miss Zak is not doing so well. Her age is finally catching up with her. She is not eating very well anymore and we are having to force feed her. She has been to the vet last week and her prognosis is not the greatest. With her arthritis is her spine and her age the vet said the best that we can do for her now is to continue to force feed her and make sure she stays hydrated and keep her comfortable. She doesn't show any signs of parasites in her stools but her kidneys are weak. She has dropped some weight but we are still hoping that she will fight to survive. She is still basking and still has some light in her eyes. Please keep us in your prayers and hope for the best. She is 16 years old.

Re: Not Doing So Well

Thanks all, I do not think tha she is in pain, but she is so weak and she just looks up at you and her eyes say "I'm tryin mom". When I hold her she just lays her head on my sholder and closes her eyes and it seems like she is comforting me instead of the other way around.

I am sorry to hear this Debbie.
I will hope everything works out ok!
At least she is with someone who loves her and is not languishing ignored in the bottom of some cage.

Re: Not Doing So Well

Aw. That's hard to hear. It's always hard to take care of a sick or dying animal. Especially one of your "kids". I hope you both get through this okay.
