Has Anyone Ever Seen This Come Out of an Iguana?

My very healthy, completely tame 7 year old big boy defecated this out today. I'm going to take him to the vet I think. But has anyone seen anything like this before? Looks like he ate a paper towel or something but I seriously doubt thats the case.

Hes a free roaming fool but I dont leave things that in the room he stays in, and hes never eating anything other than his food ever.. Hes like a cat

Can you identify the material?
It does look like he has eaten something he shouldn't have!
You would be surprised at the things they will find to eat! A vet trip is a good idea.

Yup, looks like he got a hold of something he shouldn't have. Iguanas are notorious for 'tasting' something and then down the hatch it goes.
Having an iguana who is out a lot makes you far more alert about things left on the floor.
Has he been defecating normally since then? Appetite still good? If so I wouldn't worry a whole lot.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen This Come Out of an Iguan

Hes acting normal. Feces also normal every day until today.

I haven't given him any food yet since this happened. I made a vet appointment for 3pm today.

I am so stupid I flushed the thing after I took the pictures. I dont know what I was thinking, it just really looked like a papertowel and I laughed at him that he ate that and flushed the thing.

I really wish I kept it.

That couldn't be part of his intestines or something right?

I just cant believe he ate anything other than his food. He has been a roamer for 6 years with access to so much. Hes just such a good boy I cant believe it.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen This Come Out of an Iguan

He probably didn't mean to eat it, he probably just flicked it with his tongue and it got stuck and he couldnt get it out (curse not having opposable thumbs) so down the hatch it went.
I really think it's something he ate, not part of him and he should be alright, but kudos to you for being a responsible owner and taking him to a vet.
Be sure to take the pics to the vet.

Wow he's gorgeous! My boy isn't that big yet, hes long but hasn't filled out. (Also welcome to the site!)

Iguanas taste everything. And they aren't too particular sometimes.
I know of one female owner who had a pair of her bright red panties eaten.
I have also heard of coins, Bus tokens, and string.
If there's a way to get into trouble sooner or later they will find it!
