Happy to report
After finally getting the new light into his cage, Critter is now going to sleep as soon as lights go out and sleeping all night. It only took 2 days!! What a difference! Thanks so much everybody for directing me to Mega ray and for all the help and advice. He's so cute sleeping like a baby.
