Re: please help me, my iggy is bloated

Hello,

Has the iguana been defecating? What are the temps? What type of UV lighting do you offer?

If the iguana suddenly "bloated" out of nowhere, it could be many different things. Do you own a male or a female?

A picture would allow us to see exactly what you are seeing. It would also allow us to see the extent of the bloating. Could you please post a picture.

I agree with Rich...oh and to add to the questions, what kind of substrate do you use??? .of course if he eats well, he could just be carrying all the food in his belly and appear bloated....iguanas will not over eat but sometimes will eat a lot because in the wild they have periods of time when food isnt as available....best wishes and keep us posted!

Re: please help me, my iggy is bloated

it's alrigth now...haha. I gave him a warm bath and he defecated in the water. it was huge!!! (sorry for being graphic) I think he had a terrible blocage. I use a 100watt U.V lamp int he day and a 75 watt red lamp at nigth. for substrate I use what they sell in pet stores for exotarrium which is humid tree bark. He had pretty much everything he needs. I also feed him what is recommended which is about 75% green leaves and a little fruit and veggie. I was just so worried when I found him soooo bloated for the past few days. I am happy he finaly "let it go" thank you for your help!!! I really appreaciate it. I will recommend this site to my friend who has a water dragon if he ever has any problemes. Very fast replies
thank you so much
