Greetings Mar-

I'm with Rich, sounds like a systemic infection set in somehow. I hope the ABX will kick it. Remember a follow up course of Nutribac after ABX treatment to replenish gut flora.

If kidneys are enlarged, could be a result of infection, but forced hydration is the key. Keep the water going in. One person forced hydration is hard. Need to pull the dewlap down until the mouth opens, stick the syringe as far back as possible (past the epiglottis in the middle of the tongue to avoid aspiration) and dump the syringe a little at a time. The more fluid, the more the kidneys work and the more they flush.

Poor guy, he has the best possible care and has to go thorugh something like this. I'm so sorry for you and Blob.

Anxious to see what the full blood panel shows. I would strongly suggest you write or call Bob Mac and get his advise. You know he is always happy to help a green friend in need! Vets can be great, but they usually lack the years of practical experience with reptiles in distress. It would be money well spent to contact Bob.

Keep us posted and get a new computer soon!

Best of luck to you both, i've been wondering where you guys have been! Hydration is key with kidney problems, I would ask the vet about possibly hooking him up with some SubQ fluids, I believe we've used plasma lyte in the past. If you aren't squeamish about needles most vets will send it home with you to administer daily. Please keep us updated!

well I forgot about a computer I own and am kind of able to surf but S have to say h c is not easy on a pda. Yum I am here writing this on my l-paq.

Any way

gave him a bath today and he drank a lot.

Early this summer I built a new cage six by six by three. I would like too get him into a single level cage as he does not seem as strong and does not climb as well as he used to. I also worry about falls.

Christmas also will be weird. My family is all at least 5 hours drive frame me. Usually I would not feel bad about leaving him for a day but in his current condition I don't know.

Tough choice, would the stress of taking him on a trip be too hard for him? Good luck.

Mark, I am so sorry to hear that Bob is not well. I agree with Dominick, keep pushing the water as often as possible. I will say prayers for you and Bob. I know that this can be very stressful, if you need to talk or just vet or anything else we are all here for you. hugs to you and head bobs to Bob.

This sucks to hear such bad news about Bob... I guess you're not calling him "blob" anymore.

Thoughts and prayers to you both.
