Should I be concerned?????

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and came here for a specific reason. I have a health question about my 5 year old Iggy name Ghengis Kahn.

Today Ghengis pooped a large amount, which is pretty normal, but the liquid was milky white. This has never happened before in the 4 years that I've had him. What could have caused this change? Could there be a health problem? He is eating fine (I haven't changed anything in his diet) and acting fine. Ghengis is a tame, free roaming Iguana, that shares his space with 4 kitties. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We are gonna need a little bit more info about your setup. What are your temps/humidity in his enclosure? How big is his enclosure? How often do you feed him and what does he eat? How often does he defecate? What type of substrate/bedding do you use? BTW welcome ot the HCN!

Sounds ok....urates can white at times....if you have had him all 4 yrs and got him as a baby, then he could be passing a bit of seminal plug or fluid/ breeding season behavior . Has he been to the vet for a well check lately?? Maybe a fecal test is in order to rule out parasites....as always, Welcome to HC Network. I am an ig slave to 5 gorgeous iguanas. Let us know if you have any other concerns. Make yourself at home!

Thank you for the nice welcomes

Ghengis Kahn is free roaming, through a "kitty door" from the spare bedroom throughout the house, therefore there is no enclosure. He, I think he is a he, does spend most of his time in the spare room where I have his basking light and 2 heating pads. He also has a landing to a window perch where he soaks up the sun. I don't know exactly what the humidity level is but my apartment is always humid. Ghengis eats 3-4 times a day and drinks plenty of water. I feed him fresh romaine, kale and collard greens. Once a day I mix in banana and a small amount of dry adult iguana food. Every feeding he nearly cleans his plate He defecates once sometimes twice a day and in the same area (which is nice lol). Ghengis get weekly baths and actually likes swimming around. He is mild tempered (this took alot of time since he can from a house that he was neglected 4 years ago). I hope this helps.

Thanks

P.S. Ghengis sleep on a pillow at night and on a log during the day.

I'm going to need some pictorial examples of this iguana sleeping on a pillow... I know these animals are cute, but that just doesn't compute to me.

And no, I wouldn't worry about it. Bud's has been that way a few times and I even mentioned it to the vet on my last trip and he said not to worry about it. If you're scared though, take him to a vet.

Cute pics. My iggy used to battle my kitty. Think: almost 6 ft iggy VS 7 pound cat...

After we got our big iggy, one of the cats was very interested in the interested tail. Though it was a mouse, one swat from the iggy and the cat was put in his place. LOL
