Either a basking bulb or a Ceramic Heat Emitter.
I prefer Ceramic Heat Emitter's since you can run it at night.

Using appropriate sized cord you can use a hip leash from about 4-5 inches snout to vent length. However a leash on an ig is only a safety feature to prevent them spooking and getting lost.
You can't walk them like you would a dog.

It goes infront of the hind legs to prevent damage to the throat and neck. some people can use traditional harnesses, but these are safer. Just be warned, an untamed iguana could seriously hurt or even kill itself struggling against a leash.

I modified an Iguana Lead & Harness (click here to see the product) that I had into a hip leash.

I just formed a loop instead of forming the harness.
