Finally named our Adoptee...

Hey Gang,
Passed this along to my lists earlier as well, so please forgive me if this is not your 1st time seeing this. Finally settled on a name for our adoptee. Now in all fairness its not a very unique name as its a common word but its 'feels' right so we decided to go with it. I want to formally introduce 'Monster'.

Since our last update Monster continues to thicken up and is getting a bit more sociable with us (he had a short stint of not wanting anything to do with any of us after he started to get some weight & energy back). He absolutely loves to graze on the dandelion greens in the back yard and wanders the kitchen in his free roam time. While confined to the office he spends most of his time on the basking shelf getting his UVB soak on under the mega ray which I stole from my skink until I get him one of his own. He continues to be 100% consistent in his potty training as well, he will climb down to the floor and find the large mortar basin we have with a few inches of water in it and do his business in there then climb back to his basking spot.

All in all he seems to be doing well, he is sheding on his face on the top of his crest, plus some odd flaking on his scars. The only outstanding issue I can think of is Monster darkening at certain times of the day in the office. I think I may have tracked it down. I noticed that even with the water dragon tank covered most of the way he can see right onto the basking platform from his basking site. Well Skittle was sitting on the basking platform staring right back. Skittle is a 28 inch long male Chinese water dragon who is 100% alpha male. All I can think of is that Skittle is intimidating Monster in some way and causing him to stress and darken. I have a new final viv in the works for my water dragons that will go in the kitchen so hopefully we can solve that problem within the next week or two. Anyhow, I had better get back to work, I'll leave you with some recent pics of monster, one where he is dark and one where he is light, enjoy:

Dark...

Light...

Some odds and ends you may or may not have seen yet:
