Outdoor Enclosures...
anybody have one?
If so, can you post pics of them? I'm starting plans for an outdoor enclosure for the green babies, but I'll need to build something that the two "sets" of igs can take turns using. So I have questions on materials. What type of screening should be used? I know that chicken wire is bad to use, and fine mesh screen blocks out too much UV rays. And I don't want to have a problem with them ripping the screen or getting toes and fingers caught up and hurt. So what's the best type of screen/material to use for an outdoor enclosure? Thanks for any tips.

kira I suggest using pvc pipe and plastic square style mesh I am building one to and that is what I have been using, and becuase the materals are so cheap you could probly afford to make it big enough fo both of them, check out www.herphabitats.com they could give you better advice then my also here is a web site that has plans for out cages www.lizardcages.com

This is my outdoor enclosure:
![]() The plastic extruded mesh was purchased from here: http://internetplastic.com/plastic_extruded.htm. You can call them for a free sample packet so you can choose the exact one for your needs...and this stuff lasts a long time. I've had mine for 3 yrs. now and it shows no wear from the weather. The enclosure was modelled after this design: Knock-down PVC cage There are other ideas, too: http://www.baskingspot.com/iguanas/cagepage/index.html

Thanks for he pics and ideas guys.
Those are pretty neat. We'll most likely build the frame work from wood. My husband's a trim carpenter, so getting him to build that is no problem, lol. I'm just concerned with what to screen it in with and what has been used before, if it worked out good, bad, etc. I'll look into that plastic mesh stuff, Wolf, thanks for the link.

Definitely go with the Interlink mesh. It is designed to protect large fish ponds from predatory birds. It is one of the few types of mesh that will stand up to the elements (sun, harsh winters, etc.).
