Hmmmm looks like he needs some humidity....watch those spikes...retained shed can make them fall off. He looks pretty good....and he is in good hands now. Proper foods and UVB will bring him around....
Are you sure he is a he? I see no hemipenal bulge at the base of that tail....check out the pores under the rear thighs....and "he" does look feminine to me....dont know what it is.....but anyways....best of luck with your new iguana.....Lyn

Congrats on your new addition. He is a very big boy. I live the black bands on his belly. Good luck with him.

Another good way to hydrate him is to feed him Rep-Cal pellets SOAKED in water. I've heard that other brands of iguana pellets use small amounts of animal protien (which is very bad for iguanas), Rep-Cal does NOT use animal protiens though. The pellets will soak up the water and so will he by eating them.
I agree with Lyn... looks like Tubby's a girl.

Just that head looks very feminine.
As you start misting the ig do yourself a favor and spring for the pump type garden sprayer. These are typically $10 for a small one. They will save you a lot of time, be easier on your fingers / wrist, and last a lot longer. I have used the trigger type bottles sold for 99 cents and find that they have a 3 month life span. I lost my garden sprayer in my last move and have yet to replace it but have now broken the trigger sprayer I have. During the winter months I will typically spray 40 ounces a day onto my ig and cage.

Yeah it does look female. However, if it is that big and hasn't gone gravid yet, maybe a more feminine looking male? How big is it exactly? Hard to tell from the pics as it depends on the size of your bed.
