How do you take an ig off your shoulder/back? |

Sean usually ends up going down on his hands and knees and finally laying on his belly and Lizzy crawls off. But you have to remember that Lizzy is as long as Sean is tall. So there isn't any other place to go... but on the floor.

My best method is to lean up against a door so he is forced off of my back and onto my front side so I can grab him easily, that or I call in my mom because he likes to sit on her head, he'll jump off of me as soon as he sees her to go climb all over her, and then he becomes my moms problem I should ask her how she manages.....

If food bribes don't work, I will usually just grab an empty shotgun and point it right at him and threaten to shoot unless he gets moving pronto. That usually gets their attention.
Just kidding. If nothing else, bananas or pumpkin gets them moving pretty fast, although one day I just couldn't do a thing and wound up trying to take the shirt off. Of course I wound up with a few scars for that one.

That would be a site to see! Did you try maybe slowly rolling over onto your back, maybe the change in space would encourage him/her to move away. Not so far that you would crush him, but just enough to suggest he/she moves along. Just a thought.

I have exactly the same problem with my gargoyles.
The only difference is that I'm a skinny guy and they are a lot smaller =) and because I'm too afraid they jump and get hurt, I always end in a strange yoga like position calling my wife to hurry up before they poop on my back (again) =)

LMAO at all the interesting ways we get our pets off us!
For Iggie and myself when I am taking her back to our room she will start to crawl down the back but now all I have to do is touch the end of her tail, She knows that shes not going to win so she will flip under my arm and come around my waist to the front of me where I can grab her or we walk into the room with her latched onto my shirt but around my waist! It looks like in the 50's60's when dancing the guy would twirl the girl sideways around his waist! Its quite comical!

My son's ig does that as well..gets on his shoulder and then down the back when son goes to remove him. But my son figured out that if he walks say to the file cabinet and just backs up to it, Iggy eventually climbs up it (it's Iggy's favorite perching spot..). Then my son just grabs him from there and returns him home when needed.
As for those nails scratching the heck out of ya...been there, done that. Son showed me the scar Iggy left on his arm and wanted to know how long before it vanishes. I told him he could call it his "battle wound". "how many kids can claim they were "attaked" by an Iguana and won?". Not many if any i'm sure. (ok so it wasn't exactly a battle..more like a scratch as Iggy was crawling up his arm..but no one else knows the situation..lol). |
