He's there, that's for sure. If an iguana does not want to be seen they can easily become "invisible" to us.

Check the highest places possible, like Jay said, they will seek safety in the highest place.

Keep the AC off. You need to keep him warm or he will not move around. Your best bet is to heat the place up, making him more active and more apt to roam around.

Check in/under/over everything. Know that he is there and hiding from you. Be prepared, most find them at the most inopportune time, like when you lay back on the couch and then feel something move behind you! Scares the **** outta you!

Keep looking. He can go days without food and water, but will become weaker and weaker as the days go on.

You might also try putting out a dish with something to eat. Something with a strong smell and bright color like strawberries or cantalope for instance. Igs are very attracted to reds and yellows.

Aah, panicked here, with all the travel and time at school I have had I thought my ig escaped. When did this place get another iguana named Bob?

Don't just think that ig climb as they will also head under or behind things to hide. Think in all three dimensions as you look / clean / tear apart the room.

Also leave the doors (or lid) to the cage open now. Its amazing how an ig will just wander back home.

Still no lucky as of yet. I plan on tearing apart my living room today. The last couple of times he's escaped I found him roaming around. So I figured this time would be like the others. The little bugger. Thanks for all your ideas...I appreciate them greatly and I know my boyfriend does too. He's totally bummed about Bob missing. I'll let you guys know when he is found. Thanks again.

do you know how he escaped? I would search every single component of the cage and seal up every opening you find. If this has happened before, odds are that there is a way he is escaping from the enclosure that he uses every time.

I agree with RBL you might think theres absolutley no way he could be in another room but herps have a tendancy to "appear" in the strangest places I lost Ping once (red eyed tree frog) My bedroom is on the top second floor of the house I thought he was a goner for sure! then a week later I found him (believe it or not) on the dryer in the basement! ....I never asked, he never told.

lol deltro the same thing happened to me several years ago. The only herps I had were two firebelly toads (different from the ones I have now). I went to my dad's house and when I got home my mom was like GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND! and I was like WHAT?!? and she told me that at 4am my stepdad went into the bathroom and right there sitting on the bathtub was one of my fire-bellied toad's! lol. I never asked him about it after that (the toad I mean).
