I have a routine when I clean the Iguana apartments. It never changes, ever!
1. Iguana to bathtub for a soak and a potty.
2. Remove all paper, vacuum, clean and change water tub.
3. Replace Iguana and wait three minutes.
This is where the Iguanas like to mess with me. As soon as I start the next cage they think it's funny to climb down to the newpaper and potty again. They do it on purpose, I know this because they look right at me while they are going and smile! This Brings me to step 4.
4. Start over

Just one of the joys of fostering 4 adults, 1 teen and 2 juvis. lol

I clean out my 5 adult igs cages and they look down, climb down and disgrace the new paper I just put down there again....so I have to clean it again...I can relate LOL....Lyn

Spot would do the same sort of thing...not move for hours. When I would feed her and change her water she would splash around in the new water in her pond, gobble up a couple of leaves, splash around and poop. She would look at me...waiting for her water to be changed. I would change her water, she would splash around...not poop. but still look at me...like okay mom...I've played in this water...I want new water to play in...

God I miss her!!!!!!

HAHA thats funny Jorge does the same thing to me yesterday for example I no sooner got him out of the tub where he went potty and he procedded to climb down to the floor where he went again then he looks up at me and bobs which then means that Jade has to bob back. crazy igs

Hello,
I don't house rescued iguanas anymore, so I only have Buddy. Cleaning his enclosure isn't all that bad. He gets a bath during the cleaning, and "goes" within minutes of being in the water. Then it's empty the tub, clean the tub, refill the tub, and then down to cleaning. Since he already went in the tub, he normally will either eat or bask and the tank stays clean for a few days. (He is water trained and only has "accidents" occasionally.Like when he decides to just climb into his water pan half way. The front half is in the water, the rear half is over the floor. lol)

LOL, that is hilarious, must be popular amoung the lizard world..My Bearded Dragons do the same thing.

Zok is usually pretty good. She is tubtrained and only has accidents occassionally. Like when I get tied up and break her routine!
I had a couple of days where I was gone so there was no option but for her to go in the cage. I was down on my hands and knees cleaning up the mess, had just put down the clean papers and looked up. She was hanging her front part of her body half off her shelf with this look on her face that I KNEW she was laughing! I got up and the little **** had pooped all over her shelf!
Teach ME to not be at her beck and call!

I am so happy that louie is trained to go in the litter box he has only had one accident, and that was on my carpet that was my fault I didnt get his litter box clean and back fast enough!

LOL Hilarious Jay I'm with Marsha, the Bearded Dragons do the same thing.. no hold on, all the animals do the same thing! Particularly bad when the blood python decides its fun to go to the toilet the day she's cleaned, I imagine the time taken is similar to that of yours with your igs. Grrrrrr
