Mike is correct!

UVB does not penetrate glass, plastic and it barely penetrates screening.

The ESU lamp that I suspect you are using is poor quality UVB, some of the worst on the market in fact.

The ig needs a much better UVB lamp right away, it could indeed be effecting his growth rate, coupled with a poor diet.

Having the Ig in the sunroom is fine, he is getting valuable UVA rays and some small amount of full spectrum kighitng, but you need to get a new UVB lamp right away.

Mike is correct. If you have normal household type glass the UVB light from the sun isn't getting to the iguana. The glass used in housing is specifically designed to filter out UV radiation to protect our carpets and furnishings.
The first link you gave me only showed a reflector dome. I gather from your posts that you are using a Supercoil uvb light. Those are fine for small herps but something the size of an ig is really going to need something bigger. There is the old standby flourescents (4ft) or the new super UV light.
If you are feeding the proper diet the ig is getting plenty of calcium. You can overdo the calcium just like anything else.
The calcium spray is worthless. An iguana gets plenty of phosphorous in its diet you don't want it in its calcium supplement. Try to find 100% calcium powder.

Well I'll stop by the pet shop today and pick up a better uvb bulb . I gave him a bath yesterday and I picked him up I think he likes me! He wouldn't let go for a little while so I had to sit there and wait. He's looking preety green .
Here are his measurements:
Grith: three inches
Full length: 12 inches (including tail)

Right now your ig should be growing several inches a month. An igs first year is it's biggest growth year. You need to feed more than just collards. I will give you an example of what I feed every day:

collard greens
turnip greens
mustard greens
dandelion greens (when in season)
green beans (chopped small)
cilantro
red bell pepper
butternut squash (grated)
occassional fruit...not even every day.

The first 3 items are always the main part of the diet. The other items can be interchanged with other healthy foods. I know that is a lot of food for a baby. Lots will go bad unless you learn to fix it for yourself, too... . Some stores sell in bulk so you only need to pay for what you need.

The UVB is hugely important...and I know you said your getting a new bulb today...and this is good. A reptisun 5.0 is the best flourescent on the market. The decay rate is minimal compared to others and they last much longer than we first suspected...but only trust that if you own a UVB meter. Still change this bulb about every 6-8 months. Using foil behind the fixture has been proven to increase the UVB directed at the basking spot. Buying one of the better $20 shop lights from Lowe's, instead of the $8 shoplights from Wal-Mart, will also increase the UVB output.

Make sure your basking temps are between 92-96. The temps you listed are not high enough.

Fixing all this stuff will make a remarkable change! You will be able to practically HEAR your ig grow... .

he needs uvb in order to process vitamin D3. caring for an iguana is rather particular its not hard once you have everything in place but it is time consuming and expensive over the years you will spend lots of money and lots of time with your iguana. if you live someplace where you can take him outside for example southern usa or a country where its tropical then fresh natural unfiltered sunlight will do him wonders of good. of course the downsiide of taking him outside is all that fresh sunlight has the ability to charge him up and make him difficult to handle he may even decide aftre being outside for a while that he doesnt want to go back in. but youll find all this out as you go along , the point right now is the bulb must produce uvb without it your iguana will suffer and eventually die

Okay I live in Chicago, it gets hot in the summer so when he gets bigger I'll take him outside.

You don't seem to understand. The iguana needs UVB NOW! Not next summer. By then the Metabolic Bone Disease will be set in and may require vet treatment to reverse it. A lamp will cost you far less than the vet treatments. The longer you wait the worse it will get. This is one of the things about keeping an iguana that is non-negotiable.
