Iguana on Loose Triggers Hawaii School Lockdown

FOXNews.com - Iguana on Loose Triggers Hawaii School Lockdown - Science News | Science & Technology | Technology News

HONOLULU — A 3-foot-long iguana has been captured on the grounds of Makaha Elementary School on Oahu.

State officials say the school was under lockdown while police, school personnel and neighbors captured the lizard with a fishing net.

Iguanas are found from central Mexico through South America, and can reach up to 6 feet in length.

The Department of Agriculture says it's illegal to possess iguanas in Hawaii, but the lizard is known to be established in some areas of Oahu.

Iguanas are typically vegetarians, but they are known to feed on bird eggs.

Re: Iguana on Loose Triggers Hawaii School Lockdow

probably safer for the iguana to have the school locked down. Kids can be brats!

Well Dizzy could lease out his cage...it's about the size of a small Manhattan apartment. That'd net him some dough. Spoiled brat....
