I feel sorry for the poor iguanas. I do have to say, though, this is a good opportunity for them to go around and collect them and get them out of the wild.

poor things, however they are right, they are an invasive species. In their native land, there is no way the temps would get down to 30 degrees.

I agree. It's too bad people have decided to turn them loose because they didn't want them, then they multiplied, and then the temperatures dropped and so did they. BUT they are a non-native that are destroying other species and their habitat. The Professor at our college teaches a class about non-natives destroying habitat. Mostly the class is on plants, but animal species are being brought into play more and more. It's sad. I do agree that they should collect as many as possible to try to lessen the load for awhile.

That does suck for the iguanas, but as mentioned, they are an invasive species. For the sake of the ecosystem as a whole, I'd rather see them go down like that than not at all.

that depends on how cold they get... even just enough to make them pass out is enough to cause issues like respiratory infections that will eventually kill them if not treated....
