Freya: I'm gonna bite you now!!!
This picture was taken after Freya's hand feeding yesterday. The dog (Tucker) is actually sitting on the very edge of the bed, even though it looks like she is trying to bite him, she was just eating her food. I was supporting her from underneath and around. They are actually several feet away from each other. She doesn't get worried too much by the big dogs, it's the little ones she really hates. She is getting a little grumpy, wants to move around more. Still has a few bones that I'm not sure are healed. Even though her tail is looking much better, it is pretty stiff and hard past the big break and heal spot. She has been trying to whip with it just lately when she gets angry about something, you can feel her trying to move it. She's mad because I ran out of green leafy stuff that she likes and only have what she doesn't like left. Have to make a run to the store as soon as the check hits the bank. You can see the attitude in her beginning to come out now

Re: Freya: I'm gonna bite you now!!!
yep! She has some yellow and green to her. Tail still doesn't look very good though. The tail does have better color now, and is starting to wiggle a little. If you're holding her and she gets angry at someone, she will try a tail whip, and you can feel some movement trying to happen. She's a little bloaty tonight for some reason, didn't eat much all day either. Got her to get a little gas out, but she's not real peppy today. Hopefully a minor glitch? She's been eating well, we ran out of her favorite greens, but I went and picked up some more today. She wouldn't eat much of her greens tonight though. She did eat her green pepper, sweet potato, a strawberry, a little summer squash. So I gave her a little bit of canned ig food. My daughter goes on another site, and someone there is giving her a bad time for not feeding canned ig food, is it good or bad? It wasn't on the list of foods the vet gave us to feed her daily. The person on the other site said she should only be getting canned ig food at this time. What's your take on that? I'm mostly following the vet's sheet of appproved foods.

I would go by what your vet says.... who knows who this other person is and what if any training they have... As long as you trust your vet, I would assume you have a reason for doing so, then listen to what they have to say. Especially seeing as how the ig is already appearing to be on the road to recovery, however long and windy that road may be!

Canned ig food? WT...??? Stick to fresh food. At least that way you know EXACTLY what she's getting.
Incidentally, did the bloating start after you started her on the canned food?

Re: Freya: I'm gonna bite you now!!!
Actually, I think it may have, I'm a little worried about that. My daughter had tried to pick up some greens the day we ran out, but the closest store (which is where she went, gas money issue) only had spinach, which Freya "hates with a passion". It is the one green I will have to throw out. None of my reps will touch it. Freya actually worked really hard, and managed to spit out all of the spinach. I looked in her cage, and she had her water dish full of spinach, and none in her! She has not been drinking the water from her cage, although in her bath has drank a lot of water (which we add some electrolytes to for balance from the dehydration she was suffering). No more canned food I guess. The vet had said as a treat only. Thanks for helping out. I already lost one rep this week. My little Haitian Curly-Tailed went on an eating strike (not unusual for him), I have heard from other owners theirs only eat once to twice a week. But he died in his bath last night. I had him on electrolytes and app stim, and we had just made his cage a lot larger, which he seemed really happy with. I've had him quite a while, but he wasn't growing much, although he mostly should have only gained weight at this point.
