Well I got home from work looked in on yoda.Temps,humidity,and things.Went to feed yoda and he was in his hide box.Moved it so I could change the paper towels.I noticed his tale was broken off.Have no clue how this could happen????Are they just that fragile?could he have done it by himself?Washed it off the best I could.Its not bleeding,but should I still put some corn starch on it?Good news is that he actually let me rub him for the first time today.Still a little jumpy though.Ok I will end this now before it turns into a novel.If it turn out to be a number one seller.Then I will give out free autographs,lol.

Do you have other pets that could have spooked him? Tail whipping constantly will cause it to fall off.....A bit of neosporin will be good for the end of the tail. I dont know about the corn starch. Keep it clean and dry....papertowels are a good start for the substrate....sounds like everything under control ....good luck and keep us posted!

You'd be hard pressed to find an adult iguana with its entire original tail. They are fragile.

Dizzy lost a few inches when he was younger.

There are generally no ill effects from it unless they lose most of the tail in which case they can have poor balance.

Cornstarch is only used in an effort to stop bleeding. A dab of neosporin on the end of it and keeping the cage very clean will do just fine. Ig tails are designed to break off in certain circumstances.
Its actually more stressful to the owner than to the ig
