This probably has been discussed before, but I glanced at the older discussions and didn't see it, so I apologize if this is annoying. I like talking about it, though. It's fun getting everyone's opinions on names and why they named their pets what they did.

I'm not sure as you other peoples iguanas but mine have been named Taz, Marvin and Dizzy. You just have to watch the animal and give it time until you find something that fits. Dizzy had about 4 names before one stuck.....same with Taz.

My first Iguanas were Basil and Manwel, I am a Fawlty Towers nut. The saddest name I see is Iggy, if I get one in with that name, I change it. Otherwise I keep the names they come with. Bob, Thin Lizzy, Bo Jangles, Hectoria, Jones, Pickle, Squiggy, Larry, Yoshi, Cosmos. What I remember off the top of my head.

I actully named Iwrin after steve irwin because I loved steve!! Haha, Nyobi is from the matrix, marge is from the simpsons and odyseey, i just loved that named!! Haha and she looks like shes outta this world!

I have heard a lot of very original names. For instance Rich had one named Phantom!

Be original and don't just give it any old name. Watch the animal and see how it acts and what sort of name comes to you and seems to fit. For instance my iguana, Zok, is named after a dragon from a cartoon series back in the 79's that I enjoyed. I thought their faces, particularly the eyes, were similar.

My girls are Ziggy, Oscar, and Estelle. Those are the names they came with and those are the names they keep. LOL. But I have had Rocky, Lizzy, Chester, Electra, and others to name a few from the past....

I kind of like seeing in-joke names, but mostly when I get the joke.
Don Iguan comes from a comic strip we saw one day where one of the characters said, "I am Don Iguan, reptilian Romeo."
My first Iguana's name was Etcher Scotch. I let my brother name him. He was three or four at the time, and he was trying to say "butterscotch" but couldn't quite get it.
Maize and Frederico (Uromastix and Veiled Chameleon) came to me with their names. maize was named for his tail, and I never did find out the reasoning behind Frederico's name.
Kono, my water dragon, got his name from my obsession with name books. I was looking for something that just fit him. What I found was a name with the weirdest meaning ever. "Squirrel gnaws pine nuts through." Oddly enough, it really fit him.
