does a 260 gal flexarium sound about right for a bby iggy ?
100 watt Ceramic Heat Emitter 100 watt mvb and lots of climbing branches and a tall cat scratching post with ledges for basking and a cubby for hiding.

what do yall think

I think you should cancel your "order" and adopt one of the many iguanas who need a home. ;-)

I could probably find you a young iguana and have it shipped to your door. Please consider canccelling your order, there are far too many abused and negelcted iguanas out there in need of homes. Don't perpetuate the cycle by supporting the pet trade.

Dawg, just curious. Who is the nearest rescue that won't ship? We're in Richmond, we ship.

remember im in canada so im not too sure that would work too well lacey I did some research and the closest place for me to go for a rescue center is calgary alberta 6 hours away ill contact them tomorrow and see where it takes me
i can cancel the order any time before wednesday next week... the only thing with adopting one is temperament I cannot have a very aggressive iggy as I do have youngins and I hear some can be down right evil when they have been neglected

They can be down right evil even with the best of care too. Really iguanas aren't big gentle giants...even the most docile can turn on you. I'd recommend talking to Val (see above post) about adopting. I put in a good word for you because your pets seem to get great care. Just be sure to consider all of the risks. I've had my boy since he was little but he's definitely a hands off item for anyone but me. He is too unpredictable.

i sent her an email for information
and I know that an iggy can be temperamental but im sure id run into more problems with one that has been beaten or neglected than one that just needs a home if you understand what I mean.. all my cages/enclosures are kid proof from the get go and the 260 gal flexarium is actually going to be a temp solution im planing on making a 5'Wx8'Lx6'T room for the igg in the summer that is just for him or her.

I've run into more behavior issues with the young ones from pet stores but I think it is just a natural temperment thing. My most badly abused boy was such a sweet heart, I loved him to death. I think he was just thankful to have a new home with warm place to sleep. As long as you know that it's not a walk in the park, and I expect that you do, you will be able to work it out. Just be careful, iguanas get nasty (especially whe its their time of the year ) and can do some damage. Welcome to ig-slavery.
