Looking for a proverb for my iguana tattoo...

Hey all...long time no see. Been real busy.

But here is what I am needing, if you could. I am VERY soon GETTING a tatto of a black/grey iguana head on my shoulder, something very similar to the picture at the link provided below.

Now what I am wanting to do, is get some proverb written into the scales...I'm wanting to take a proverb fitting of an iguana, that I can also use to describe myself. Something strong, powerful, dominant, etc. I am planning on coming up with something, and then translating it into Spanish, since Camille (my iguana) has been said to probably be from El Salvador, which since most iguanas come from Central America, doesn't sound like too much of a guess to me.

So I was wondering if any of you knew any good proverbs that would work, or if you possibly were good with words like this. I am just looking for something having to do an iguanas power, strength, adaptability, dominance, passivity...all of those things. A quote I can really live my life by, seeing how my life already is led by a VERY dedicated kind of mentality.

Here is a pic of the rough idea I am getting for the tattoo...after a few changes are made.

"Cría cuervos y te sacarán los ojos."
- Translation: Raise crows and they will peck your eyes out.
- Interpretations:
- If you take care of / raise / tolerate inherently indecent people, they will still take advantage of you at the end.
- No good can come of doing unworthy deeds.
- People can be ungrateful - even if you hand-raise a crow, it can still peck out your eyes

"Lagarto que traga no vomita."
-Translation: The lizard that swallows doesn't vomit. (NB- lagarto is also archaic for dragon.)
-Interpretation: A tough stomach can take anything.

"No hay maestro como carne propia."

-Translation: There is no teacher like your own flesh.
-Interpretation:
- Experience is the best teacher.
-Learn from your mistakes.

A mas honor, mas dolor.
Translation: The more danger, the more honor.

A palabras necias, oidos sordos.
Translation: Take no notice of the stupid things people say.

Consejo es de sabios perdonar injurias y olvidar agravios.
Translation: To err is human, to forgive divine.

Cumpla yo y tiren ellos.
Translation: Do what is right, come what may.

El movimiento se demuestra andando.
Translation: Actions speak louder than words

Hacer de tripas corazon.
Translation: What cannot be cured must be endured

I hope this helps, I tried to give you lots of options I knew that taking four years of spanish would eventually come in handy!
