Dr.Amy Hayward
Hi-
I'm at wit's end. 2 weeks ago my lovely ig became eggbound, and was operated on at Animal Care Unlimited in Columbus, Ohio, by Dr. Amy Hayward. I called today because Fluffy is not doing too well, and low and behold, Dr. Hayward has left the practice! I know eveyone here becomes as attached to a particular vet as I do, especially when you get a really really good one. I feel devastated. I'm sure there's another vet there who will take over her patients, but they just won't be her. If you know what I mean.
Does anyone know Dr. Hayward and where she might be?
Thanks.
Holly

Can the clinic not give you any info on where she left for?

No, they wouldn't say a thing about where she's gone or why she left!
A good herp vet is hard to find, and when you have an ig recovering from major surgery, it makes it much worse.
The head vet there also does iguanas, and I have asked for him to call me, but so far he hasn't. Unfortunately, Fluffy hates men.

Sounds a little fishy to me....If a vet moves on with good intentions, there is usually info available....No info leads me to believe she left some bitter feelings behind....hopefully the replacement will be a nice one for you.

I agree. Sounds like there was some hostility there to me. When my vet moved they had no problem telling me where she went.
Unfortunately it was to Alaska!

Alaska!
Ouch! That's a bit of a drive from Oklahoma City. Evidently, the vet who owns the business also does reptiles, but Fluffy does not seem to get along with men at all. There must have been something in her BH (before Holly) life
that causes this reaction. She also doesn't like male voices on tv. That makes it rough during football season, when all the tvs in the house are blasting out football.

How is Fluffy?
Sorry I'm late on this reply. We used to go to Animal Care Unlimited in Columbus also. We now go to Indian Creek about 20 miles away in Reynoldsburg.

Fluffy is doing great. She just got her stitches out yesterday, and she's eating well and finally pooping on her own. She's back to walking around the house, looking for trouble. Winter is closing in tho and she does not do well in Southeast Ohio gray winters. I believe she has seasonal affective disorder.
Thanks for asking!

Updated Info for Dr Amy Hayward
I found your post a few months back when I too was looking for updated information for Dr. Hayward. She is the best vet we have ever had. My wife and I live in Cincinnati so we had a 2 hour drive each time we went to Columbus to see Dr. Hayward. Happily I can say that we found her and can once again make that 2 hour drive knowing that she will be waiting for us.
Amy Hayward, D.V.M. is now practicing at Norton Road Veterinary Hospital.

Galloway is a suburb on the southwest side of Columbus, Ohio. She is a great Herp Vet and a great vet for all exotics. We are so happy to have found her.
