I wonder if anyone can advise me with this problem. I have a 3yr old Ig in excellent health who I obtained as a rescue case. He was really good natured with everyone, particularly me, climbing up me to sit on my shoulder every chance he got. I recently took hime to the vets as he somehoe managed to cut his foot and since that time if I go near him he goes ballistic, running away and being generally thrashy, even if I pick him up at any time he thrashes like mad, to a worrying degree, if anyone else goes near him he is fine... HELP!!! I MISS MY FRIEND!!! He just appears to hate me now! But just me!!

It could be that he associates you with the pain from the cut. Gently keep pushing the issue and keep handling him... hopefully he'll remember that you're not going to hurt him.

Yeah, you just gotta re-associate yourself to him as "the good guy". They have small brains, so it's not that hard, but it does take some time. I think after I took my Bud to the vet, he was totally cold to me and wouldn't come out of his sleeping box, but remember this... Sometimes a good way to an iguana's heart is with food. I would hold cucumber slices up to the hole and he'd come to it and eat it... and slowly I'd lead him out a little until he was under his heat lamp/UV lamp. It just takes time.

And it helped that he was climbing over the top of the curtain rods while I was sleeping in the living room, I came back into my room and he was hanging by one foot and a couple claws, so I ran up and pulled him off of it. He responded nicely by licking my hand, heh.
