Help!!
I know it been a while since i've posted but I need some help. My ig has started panting, he sits with his mouth open and pants like a dog. I've checked the obvious things like temps and humidity but they're fine. Any ideas??
I really need solutions because we have a 440 mile trip to make on sunday and if he's ill I don't want to move him.

If you're temps and humidity really are fine then you should really get him to the vet, because it could be a URI.

Yes it may be.
Is the breathing rapid or labored?
Is there excessive mucus in the mouth?
Is there a foamy discharge around the noise area (different from snalt)?j
Is there a wheezing sound when your iguana breathe?
Decreased eating and activity?
Make sure he is warm and to keep him hydrated until you can get him to the vet.

His mouth looks no different to normal. His breathing is the same as when I got him. He only seems to do this every so often he'll turn around stare at me for a while then open his mouth.

Is it really panting like a dog or more like breathing through his mouth? It still may be best to eliminate the medical reasons.

Hello,
Iguanas and other reptiles will sometimes "gap" like that to help cool themselves off. Are you certain your thermometers are giving off accurate readings?
Can you hear ANYTHING odd when he breaths like a mild wheeze? If this is a new behavior, he should see a vet just to be safe!
