Hey all, today I noticed something really strange with my iggy and I'm getting worried. I'm not sure but it looked like she was trying to eat her poop... I know it sounds crazy. I took her out of the enclosure immediately when I saw this I need to know why she would possibly do something like this. However, she might have not done what I thought she was doing, but please tell me what would cause her to do it if she was. Thanks.

Relax. As gross as it is to us it is perfectly normal behavior to them. In the wild young igs will consume the droppings of older iguanas to build up their own gut fauna to aid in digestion. However its not a necessary thing so preventing it in captivity is a good idea since it can also harbor the eggs of parasites and reintroduce a new colony of nasties to your ig.
