re: Aggressive Iggy
Getting an iguana that is already spent 1 year of its life with someone who was afraid of her will take time to tame. I have a few that have been here for three years that were full grown when I got them here. I still am working on them, mind you not all will take that long. These were just big aggressive males.
It was stated nicely in another thread,, You need to Alpha up. I just took one back that was placed a few months ago that basically terrorized its new owner. The minute I walked in the door and firmly stated knock it off, he lowered his head and fell asleep on me. He adjusted quickly again in my home and I now have no issues with him,, but he also knows that I am the alpha and will not tolerate it for any reason. Sometimes this means that I am on the floor with them restraining them until they stop puffing up, hissing, and trying to bite and whip. Sometimes this takes a while, I do not release until they are totally submissive, meaning that they lower their heads, put their dewlaps back in, and deflate themselves, lol. I then release. If they do it gain, repeat the process until it walks away from you in a submissive state. Like I said this could take a while, lol. ![]()

re: Aggressive Iggy
You might look for "spring greens" I do believe that is what they call collards on your side of the pond.

re: Aggressive Iggy
The towel trick might work - most usually freeze when they suddenly can't see anymore, but some get more agitated, so be careful.
Don Iguan decided to show signs of aggression this morning as well, puffing up and moving his tail into whipping position. I swear he's sweet only to lull me into a false sense of security. I just moved slowly, did what I needed to do, and made sure that every time he moved in an aggressive way, I put a stop to it immediately. After three or four times puffing up and me just holding him still gently, he decided it was a lost cause and set about ignoring me staunchly. That's generally the attitude you'll get from them when they don't get their way.

re: Aggressive Iggy
The trick you are thinking of with the towel involves wrapping them up in the towel like you would a baby and walking around holding her to your chest and talking or singing softly to her.
You can also try waiting till an hour after lights out and she is asleep to gently pick her up and just sit with her. Anythng to get thru to her that you are not a threat. Gentleness and patience are the key.
