Cutting Our Toe Nails......suggestions?

I love my baby but I don't think anyone's cut his toenails in a long time, I don't mind the little scratches I get but every time I go to the doctor I get the twenty questions about why I've got scratches all over my arms, I tell em it's my big lizard and I guess they can't understand why I allow it.

Poor Draco is missing a few claws off his front feet and I suspect some of his longer toes on his back feet may have been broke a few times and are now useless but he doesn't complain when I play with his toes so I don't know for sure.

So what do you do to clip your iggys toenails, I'm half suspecting it's going to be a somebody's got to hold him while you do the deed thing? Are they like birds? Can you put sandpaper stuff in their cages and fix it that way? I wouldn't think that something that drags its underside would care for sandpaper anything in their house.

A lot depends on the size of the ig and its temperment. Having another set of hands is always helpful but not absolutely necessary.

I do it while Diz is in the tub, that way he can't really get good traction to run away and the nails are softer and easier to clip.

I usually do it in the tub too. I use clippers similar to these.
