Rep-cal preference
My iguana used to not eat repcal and I had to hide the pellets in its foods. If you remember, I made sandwhiches out of leaves with rep-cal pellets mashed in between. I would feed the rep-cal 3 days a week or so for some extra protein.
Now, my ig actually REFUSES anything that doesn't have rep-cal pellets on it, clearly visible. It would not eat anything that has no rep-cal pellets on it anymore. I've given it plain leaves for days and it would not eat. Today I gave in and put some rep-cal and its in there chowing down right now.
I know that you can gradually "wean" them off of the rep-cal by reducing the amount gradually. However, I don't want to get him off of them, just not everyday. This is because the pellets DO have D3 in them, and despite the fact that I hear (but have seen no proof nor numbers etc. just hearsay) that the amount is negligible (how do you even know?), that there can still be issues with feeding it on a daily basis.
If I wean him off of it, it means I don't feed the pellets at all anymore. If wean him off, but feed a little on certain days, then he's eating them and will still be picky like now.
I have no idea what to do about this one.
