This is what our member has to say: Mine has never shown any real interest in the grass. tongue flicked it and then wandered on in search of more delectable goodies!...

I don't think there is any pesticides used in this area. There are only 3 houses on this side of the street, this house and the one next door are owned by landlords, that don't like to sink much money into their rentals. The other house is a home that takes care of disabled people, and I can't see them having time to do much yard work. They hire neighborhood kids to mow the grass, I have never seen them do much outside, other then let the dog out.

The thing you have to be aware of is any houses in the neighborhood. Not just the immediate neighbors. Wind born spray can carry quite a ways. And I don't know about Canada but at one time there were cities in the US that routinely sprayed, from an airplane, malathion and other pesticides in order to control mosquitos.

Here in Hong Kong, ALL vegetables available anywhere of any price has been sprayed with pesticides. I soak my vegetables for about 15 minutes in water, let the water run, and as I prepare each leaf, hold it under running water and rub it for about 3 seconds. That's what is recommended to make it safe for human consumption and that's what I've been doing for my very healthy ig. May not work for yours though.

THANK YOU! visuals are great to have!!!!
I just got Pele's UVB bulb and yesterday she ate 2 helpings of food. She Loves the bagged lettuce idea, and ate everything just to get to the bottom of the plate, where the bagged salad was. It didn't have as good of ingrediants that I hoped, so next time I am going to check out the other grocery store, in hopes that they have better choices.

I have a medium sized clay pot built into Bud's perch that he eats out of, it'll hold about one good handful of cut up turnip greens. He'll eat that when I put it for him around 3pm... then I'll put more out before I leave for work and he'll eat it all and go to bed.

And I tell ya the truth, I've found some pretty good veggies for him at Walmart. That's where I first started buying him turnip greens, but they sell everything else too. Collard, Mustard, they're all pretty good priced, too. I buy his turnip greens for about $.79 per bundle, and that'll last him a good week. This reminds me that I gotta buy more stuff, too...
