OK today I did what you suggested and although the food bowl looks full I can tell there are less blueberries and less bits of carrot/squash (The colorful items are the easiest to track). Thanks again for the advise, I'll keep it up until he comes around.

I had a similar problem with my ig but can I suggest you try some flower petals in with his food. My ig wouldn't eat veggies or fruits either but my vet suggested I tried flowers as it mainly flowers and leaves they eat in the wild. One thing I will say though is check Mellisa Kaplins book before feeding flowers as some are toxic to the little guy.

Some good ones are dandelions, hibiscus and rose petals. Just make sure that they have not been sprayed with anything.

Try what they said of cutting leaves smaller and mixing it all up so he can't pick it out, as that works for most people. For me, I had to cut my pieces BIGGER before he ate the non-leaf ingredients. Not so big that they can choke him though. Far smaller, but not grated. For example, my iguana would eat green beans whole. They are about 1cm in diameter. I crush them between my fingers and drop them in so that they are still in big pieces, but are crushed so that they are not round nor hard and don't choke. That's for me. I don't know why my ig is opposite like that to everyone elses.
I've also found that my ig outgrow these problems. I get so worried when it has a problem or doesn't do this or doesn't do that, but then, a day or two later, the problems just goes away.

Today I made everything in tiny pieces but there were enough leavs that Gandhi knew he could get some of the "good stuff" if he tried, so he actually made a pretty impressive dent in the food bowl! Yay! He couldnt possibly have picked out the leaf bits from the rest so I know that he got a well balanced meal. Thanks guys! Oh, but the way, where do you guys get flower petals?? Do you have to grow them, or do you go to a flower store or what? I am clueless (and not a great gardener) but I will do anything for my ig!

I just steal them off my mum who buys fresh flowers every week But you'll get them from any florist.

Most get them from the garden.
Using a florist's blossoms is not a good idea because you never know whats on them. Commercial growers use a wide variety of sprays to make sure the plants look better and last longer while waiting sale.

Another problem with florist flowers is that they use a lot of preservatives once they've been cut for longevity. I know this is an older post...but I thuoght it worth mentioning... .
